2018 Mexico Trip


Part 1: The Journey South
​(October 18-19, 2018)
​The start of another Coasting with Culture adventure! This time it's off to Mexico, and the trip begins with a few flights to get to Monterrey.​

(October 20, 2018)
The first full day in Mexico includes a visit to one of Monterrey's former industrial areas-turned city park, and then get into the first theme parks of the trip with Parque Plaza Sesamo and Bosque Magico.

Part 3: More Mexican Coasters
​(October 21, 2018)
​After a day in Monterrey, it was time to head to Guadalajara, and upon arrival, a road trip was taken in the hear of Mexico to visit two off-the-beaten-path parks in Morelia and León.​​

Part 4: Exploring Guadalajara

After driving around Mexico, it was time for some exploring in Guadalajara to enjoy the central part of the city.

​After exploring the heart of Guadalajara, it's time to find some roller coasters around town visiting a couple of smaller amusement parks and a local major festival.

The next day in Mexico begins with the best amusement park in Jalisco, and with one of the most intense roller coasters ever experienced!

Part 7: A Night of Lucha Libre
​(October 23, 2018)
​For the last evening in Guadalajara, it's time to enjoy a tradition of Mexico in the form of the Mexican style of professional wrestling known as Lucha Libre, and this show is held in one of the most historic venues for the sport.

Part 8: Cancun
​(October 24-25, 2018)
​The next stop in Mexico is Cancun, and the overall experience of this short visit is a bit a of mixed bag due to some early experiences with the Cancun hustle, but as the stay continues, it offers some great cultural opportunities and great sights.​

Part 9: Back to Mexico City
​(October 26-27, 2018)
​For the rest of the trip in Mexico, it's time to go back to Mexico City, and after arriving to the last hotel of the trip, there would be food, exploration and another Mexican coaster!​

​Part 10: Día de los Muertos Parade
​(October 27, 2018)
To begin the festivities of Día de los Muertos for this visit to Mexico, Gary heads to Plaza Reforma in Mexico City to see the Día de los Muertos parade.

Part 11: La Feria Chapultepec Megico
​(October 28, 2018)
​The Mexico trip continues to one of the main amusement parks of Mexico City, for enjoying some great coasters including one of the only moibus style wooden coasters in the world.​

Part 12: Six Flags Mexico
​(October 30, 2018)
​The next park of the Mexico Trip is to one of the best of the Six Flags chain, and that is Six Flags Mexico! See some of the best coasters in Mexico, as well as some of the highlights of their Halloween event, Festival del Terror!

​(November 1, 2018)
The final amusement park of the Mexico Trip that was a surprise addition to the trip, as it was not slated to be open during this trip. See what Mexico's newest park has to offer!

Part 14: Día de los Muertos in Mixquic
​(November 1-2, 2018)
​The last stop of the visit to Mexico heads to San Andres Mixqic for the festivities of Día de los Muertos. Here visitors get to see many of the traditions of the holidays including the decorating of the graves and the alleyways and side streets of town, as well as a market to enjoy food and souvenirs.
